LENS IMPLANTS
From £3000.00 per eye

For those whose prescription is outside the normal treatment range of Laser Vision Correction, then intraocular lens implants are an option which is available.
Implanted lenses can be used for the correction of more severe levels of short sight, long sight and astigmatism. Implants are a tiny lens which is placed inside the eye in a manner similar to that used for cataract patients. The lens is inserted through a small incision in the side of the cornea and sits in front of the eye's natural lens, just behind the cornea. The benefits of this method are that the treatment is pain free as it is conducted under a general anesthetic, and also the visual recovery is fast with very good visual acuity results and the success rate is very good.

In Depth . . .

Suitability

By Using implanted lenses it is now possible to treat patients with prescriptions from -20 dioptres to +10 dioptres with (+/-) 5 dioptres of astigmatism. It is also possible to treat patients who are unsuitable for laser treatment because their corneal thickness is considered to thin for Laser correction.

We do not consider this treatment to be suitable for people over the age of 60 with early cataracts, people with glaucoma, recurrent eye infections or other eye diseases.

Consultation

In the case of Implant surgery there will need to be an initial consultation to enable the surgeon to determine your suitability, and also to to determine the strength of lenses required. These lenses are then made to your exact specifications and will be ready in about 2 days, at which time the operation can be carried out in our own surgical unit at Paris by one of our Qualified Surgeons.

Treatment and after care

The operation will be performed in a full surgical theatre at our clinic in Paris, the whole procedure takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. You will then stay over night in the clinic. The following day you will be seen by the Surgeon, who will then advise you on initial aftercare and dispense any medication required.

Follow up and aftercare visits which may be requied after one month will be as instructed by the surgeon.

Lens Implant Costs

The treatment is from £.3000 per eye, which includes consultations, lens manufacture, Surgeons fees, Aneasthetist fees, any medication required for aftercare and an overnight stay at the Clinic.

Should you decide to proceed with the operation a non refundable deposit of 1000 Euros will be required, with the remaining balance payable 14 days prior to your Consultation in Paris.

Should you decide not to proceed with the operation at the time of your initial consultation at the clinic, any monies previously paid will be refunded to you, less the Surgeons Consultaion Fees of 225 Euros.
